    These are all great boards and I know recommending all-mountain boards are hard to do and is the largest category; however, other than the Mtn Twin, these boards are not "all-mountain" and either considered "all-mountain-freeride" or just plain "freeride". The difference is noticeable and important when considering directionality, flex, user riding level, etc, which is very important for your average rider who is looking for a good all-mtn board and not freeriding. I personally would not recommend any of these boards to someone looking for an all-mountain go anywhere do anything snowboard except for the Mtn-Twin. I would recommend the title of this video be updated as such and separate videos be made to target the all-mountain, freestyle, freeride, and alternative freeride categories separately. FYI, there are other great recommendable boards from all of these companies that are actually better suited to strictly all-mountain riding, without the freeride component. I.E. NS Proto-Synthesis or Ripper instead of the FR (which stands for freeride btw); Capita Mercury, DOA, or OSL instead of the Kazu; Lib-tech Terrain Wrecker, TRS, Dynamo instead of the Golden Orca (which is alternative free-ride/all-mtn-ish); Burton Custom, Process, or Free Thinker instead of the Hometown Hero. I hope this helps Curated and all the viewers of this video.

      Exactly. Those "volume shifted" boards with only a 26 cm waist width are not nearly enough for us.

    One word KORUA!!!!! The OTTO, Pencil or my personal favorite Cafe Racer. You can’t go wrong with Korua Shapes as there’s a board for most every rider and they are all epic. Being a long time Nitro rider i was tickled by the Woodcarver. I still recommend it for the experienced all mountain carvers. The Jones Flagship is tied for second in my book, a book that started on a Burton 150 Elite back in ‘88. I was still riding my Burton ‘91 PJ asym 6 with hard shells until this year. I like too trench, get horizontal 😉 and slice and dice trails. The Korua Shapes Cafe Racer holds an edge like no other soft boot/binding board i’ve ever ridden. Give them a look, you wont regret it.

    Had the chance to demo a Proto FR. I thought the camber profile was a gimmick. Even looking at it, it seems like nonsense. It is not. It rips. Feels like straight-up camber. This review is spot on.

    What about the 2022 Jones Flagship? Isn’t that similar to the Burton?

    I just bought the burton hometown hero splitboard 2022 a few days ago. Delivery is marked for this Wednesday the 29th of June. I'm soooo stoked. I rode heavy all thru the 90s and ripped and repped a few brands for a store in Minnesota I worked for called the white wolf. My favorite brands back then were Sims and Salomon and K2 and of course burton. I was Terje haakasen mega fan but I always forget how to spell his name. I had a board video on vhs called riders in the storm with bands like white zombie before they blew up. It was on repeat all day in my room as a kid. I rode a Sims free ride board and a Sims palmer.. huge boards for me till I was able to find the perfect fit and ride for free with the brands I listed. I rode different brands and gave feedback..and sold tons of gear at my ski and board shop. I was only in 7th grade!!! I got to ride any board set up for free and there were soooo many back in the 90s Even tho boarding was new...and I got free slope passes whenever. The white wolf was a huge store but a solo one owned by a family. We were professionals and we knew r stuff. My dept was the snowboard dept. I was only 13. And now decades later after stopping at age 20 I'm back at it. I have no clue why I stopped...but I'm back and rippin a new hero split by burton for this new season coming up. The board is priced at 849.99$ and I picked up a huge summer sale at burton and got it for 424$!!!!! Killer deal. That was a few days ago. I want the hometown hero regular board too the non split and I have to say I'm a huge Salomon fan too. I love their looks and they just talk to me. The hometown hero split has a dope look for 2022. Green at the tail and fading into black down the board with an industrial look with all the hardware due to the split hardware. It has a terminator feel like I'm gonna man handle the slope with ninja steel. I've never rid a split...and I'll get another board also this winter but I love all the family tree bloodline boards so I'll feel the split and I'm sure I'll be amazed and maybe a regular hero board too later this year... cuz we just can't stay away huh!??! So why not have two. But on a side note I loved that lib tech u showed..nice!! Hey any thoughts on Salomon boards?? Let me know!!??

      @Bobby Chadderton I'll check out those films! So what's it like for you to compare the 90s to current day? It was crazy for us back then and the skier snowboard rivalry. It got sooo heated.! I know back then it was like a revolution and no one knew what to do with us. We were the monsters on the slopes. Big Clown hats and showing off air the skiers cud not get. Every new board coming out was sicker then the last. And it was just an adventure...thankyou for ur comment it means alot. I wud love to hear if u have any comments about the differences of then and now. I'm trying to work on a written piece. It was crazy back then the rave scene and boarder scene and I loved all of it. I graduated in 97 and I'm still young inside. I took a long time off of boarding due to my careers in the performing arts. But I came back and I know there is a new generation or plural. All things change and progress but there was something very special about the 90s. It was the catalyst to everything and the last generation before technology took hold. I will look for those TB vids. Thankyou!! Enjoy ur life cuz man it seriously seriously goes sooo quickly. Time rips by so grab it! This year I wish us all good snow and powder dreams. Any advice for an ol timer getting back to boarding?it's been 12 years... Cuz I was one heck of a rider and respect will be paid lol 😆. Be well sir. Get stoked. !!

      @@jagger3501 I took it a few times up and it's a great board. Super lightweight, great edge control, rides smooth with good pop. I haven't riden in deep powder yet unfortunately so I don't know. It's a petty narrow board so if you plan on riding powder, there are better powder boards.

    Did u consider the burton leader board at all?? I love burton . There r so many brands but I feel burton is the most durable. We can get lost in the many many brands but I search but always come back to burton. I have a custom and 2020 burton leader board. Wow....that's what I say. I see mixed reviews about other brands. Ull see praise given bit then ull see mixed In into the reviews of other brands quality issues and bad stuff happening to the board that shudnt be happening. But u never really hear about burton having issues with durability and quality. Other brands will charge 500 to 800 etc for price but then u hear it gets dinged up easy or the top sheet peels or bubbles on the base or a weak base for its toughness is lacking. I almost just bought a yes board well I bought it online but then canceled my order cuz I started hearing negative reports of durability and lacking of solid stats even tho board is almostb700$!! So how do we navigate this!!!?? So I keep coming back to burton. Good prices and solid solid constructed boards with good enuf tech. What r ur thoughts?

    Ride berserker is way better then all of those.

    • @AlexanderKontsevoy
      @AlexanderKontsevoy 2 года назад

      It is, but Berzerker isn’t an allmoutain board, more leaning to freeride side of things. And it’s also pretty narrow, not suitable for 11+ boot sizes.

      @@AlexanderKontsevoy berserker is an all mountain free ride deck and yea it’s narrow I had to bump up to the 163 wide.
